Better Than Cocaine

Psalm 84:10 “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere.” Yesterday a friend asked what drives me to know God more. I thought about it for a second and replied. “You know in my backsliding days I indulged in lots of worldly pleasures. I slept around. I did lots of drugs. But I can honestly say that feeling God’s presence far surpasses the intensity of anything I’ve ever experienced. I’ve also seen how intense worldly pleasures come at a cost. I’ve known people who started lying to friends and even stealing from their own family because of their addiction to cocaine for example. But whenever I get in an argument with Elaine (it’s always my fault btw J ) I go down to pray, get a jolt of the Holy Spirit and return with far more love, humility, and patience than when I started. Knowing God feels better than cocaine, AND it makes me a better person. It’s a no-brainer!” God it’s so true. Just one day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. How could I not pursue you with everything that I’ve got? Thank you for the gift of your son, and for giving access to your presence by sending your spirit. I love you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
