Ever Increasing Faith

Mark 11:23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” Last year at Solomon’s Porch Singapore’s annual retreat, our guest preacher Pastor Benjamin Robinson gave us a word that we would become a church known for healing, much like the ministry of Smith Wigglesworth. I remember thinking to myself “wow, who is this guy?” and shortly thereafter “I guess God can even use people with funny names!” I went to read one of Mr. Wigglesworth’s books called Ever Increasing Faith soon afterward, but over a year later I felt God bringing me back to it today. Born in 1859, Wigglesworth only learned to read after marrying his wife Polly, who taught him how to read the bible. He often stated it was the only book he ever read. Ever Increasing Faith opened with the passage from Mark 11 about moving mountains, and then the following paragraph, which really resonated with me. “These are days when we need to have our faith strengthened, when we need to know God. God has designed that the just shall live by faith. Any man can be changed by faith, no matter how he may be fettered. I know that God's word is sufficient. One word from Him can change a nation. His word is from everlasting to everlasting. It is through the entrance of this everlasting Word, this incorruptible seed, that we are born again, and come into this wonderful salvation. Man cannot live by bread alone, but must live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. This is the food of faith. ‘Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.’” Yes Lord, today I feel my faith strengthened. I need to know you. I declare your word is sufficient. Nothing can come against me and my family, because you have already won the battle. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
