Nehemiah 3 “Then Eliashib the high priest started to rebuild at the Sheep Gate… The Fish Gate was built by the sons of Hassenaah… Meremoth son of Uriah repaired the next section of the wall… The Old City Gate was repaired by Joiada son of Paseha and Meshullam son of Besodeiah…” Last night my accountability group invited our wives along for a dinner. For the last 5 years, we have posted our devotionals to our chat room daily, celebrated our victories together and prayed for each other through our struggles. We had a great meal, and on the way home I felt really blessed to have these brothers to walk alongside. This morning I felt led to Nehemiah 3, which outlines all the different groups of people who helped to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. I felt God reminding me that we are made in His image, and He is the ultimate dreamer. If it is our calling to dream big, and to be used for building massive fortifications for the Kingdom, then it must be our calling to come alongside brothers and sisters to work together. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. Lord I sometimes tend to rush ahead of your timing, and the timing of those around me. But thanks for the reminder today that you’ve placed us in community for a reason. When we move together, you use us mightily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
