Job 38:4 “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?” On Friday I shared about how Pastor Benjamin Robinson had spoken a word that SP would become a church known for healing. That same night he went to pray for several people in our congregation who had serious health conditions. This weekend we had one of them come over to our house and they shared that they had been healed of the condition. I saw the x-ray that showed a literal reforming of bone where there had been none before. Then we shared our prayer requests, and the brothers gathered around and laid hands on me to pray for my dad. The same brother who shared about the supernatural bone formation prayed Job 38 over me, and tears just started welling up as I felt God remind me of his power. I think it’s worth posting here in full. “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone— while the morning stars sang together and all the angels[a] shouted for joy? “Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt’?
“Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place, that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?
This passage is just so Gangsta. God is God, and people generally know their place relative to His. I guess that’s why most scripture is people praising God. But every now and then, He has to remind us of who He is…. The Original Gangsta… and the one and Only God. Lord, cancer is no match for you. I fear nothing but sin, and desire nothing but you today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
