Luke 11:21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.” Last Sunday I had the privilege of sharing the word at Solomon’s Porch. (https://www.facebook.com/solomonsporchsg/videos/1626968300828310/ … starts at 25:20) I opened by saying that we have experienced a lot of attack in our community, especially upon the health of our family members. In fact, our lead Pastor Sam Kim said last year that he had never before in 20+ years of ministry seen such an acute and obvious attack of the enemy. In Luke 11, Jesus describes the enemy as a strong man who is fully armed. He guards his own house and his possessions are safe… until someone stronger attacks. In my own life, and in the lives of those around me, the enemy prowls like a roaring lion, preying on innocent victims who forget they have the protection of one who is greater. But the name of Jesus is stronger than the name of death. The name of Jesus is stronger than the name of cancer. Because he who is in me is greater than he who is in the world. I arrived in Seoul earlier this week and can relay with conviction that prayer works, and that our God is greater. Last week, my father went to the gym for the first time in months, and has been going regularly since then. He continues to gain weight back and tomorrow he’ll have a CT scan that will show what we already know to be the truth. Jesus is taking ground from the enemy. Our God is greater. Lord, thank you for your goodness. I am so blessed to call you my father and my friend. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
