Pascal & Prayer

Luke 5:15 “But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities. But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.” I’ve had less headspace these days due to a hectic work schedule and my dad’s upcoming surgery. (October 26th now… thanks to those of you who have been praying). I’ve found myself turning down more social engagements lately to focus on going inward. We’ve been designed to live in community, but I think most of us probably spend too little time with God and too much time in shallow interactions with people. In my reading today I ran into this quote today from Blaise Pascal, the famed Christian philosopher and mathematician. “I have discovered that all the unhappiness of men arises from one single fact, that they cannot stay quietly in their own chamber.” Lord thanks for being good, and for in this season helping me to get a bit more balanced on the right priorities. I love you lots. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
