Women Leaders

Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ.” In Jewish culture, a woman used to have relationship with God through a circumcised male, her father or their husband. After Jesus came the need for circumcision went away, and so did the barrier between Jews and Gentiles as well as men and women. So why is it in today’s world, that so few women are empowered for leadership within the church? Pastor Danny Silk questions how in today’s world, where a woman can run a massive company as CEO, or a country as Prime Minister, many churches still won’t let women serve as lead pastor or even on their elder board. It’s a divisive issue, but he believes the scriptures are pretty clear. Jesus didn’t come to die for men, he came to die for men and women. And he wants to lift up all his children into positions of authority. I’m blessed to be surrounded by powerful women. My wife is a CEO and former church board member. My mother is an ordained pastor. I hope they inspire many other women to rise up into positions of leadership in both the church and the marketplace. Lord, thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for your love. Help us to show it to others regardless of socioeconomic status, religious faith or gender. My job is to model your love, and I know you love all your children. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
